FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Farm Bureau will sponsor a free educational meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Farmington Town Office. The meeting will be held upstairs in the Firemen’s Room and is open to the public.

Donna Bucher from the Cooperative Extension Service will provide information on general food safety as well as more specific ideas for Thanksgiving meal preparation and proper handling of any leftovers.

There will also be a discussion on how local foods can fit into a Thanksgiving meal. Handouts will be available on how to find local farms and where to buy local products. Door prizes from area farms will be presented and refreshments will be served.
