DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read Sun Spots daily. You help so many people.

Where can I get a Bible rebound? It is so special to me, and I would like to have it rebound. Thank you. — No Name, East Dixfield

ANSWER: The closest Sun Spots found is in Windham, Clayton C. Crummett, 155 Route 115, 892-9512. There are others in the Portland area, including Carlson and Turner Antiquarian Books and Bookbindery, 241 Congress St., Portland, 773-4200. There may be others nearby of which Sun Spots is unaware.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is there any place in this area that one can have 8mm movies copied to a DVD? I took a couple of reels maybe 40 years ago of Boy Scouts getting ready for camping when I was a Scout leader. Any help would be appreciated. — Old Scout leader, old_warrior45@hotmail.com

ANSWER: Sun Spots has one possibility in her Rolodex: Al Ibarguen, Wilton, nascar810@earthlink.net, 645-4250. She can’t be sure he can help you, but he’s the most likely she has listed.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have two aluminum-frame lawn chairs. I need the fabric webbing that weaves back and forth. I don’t sew and that prevents me from adopting a different material. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. — Mike Blackburn, Norway

ANSWER: You can buy kits to repair the webbing online (www.chaircarepatio.com), and there are instructions on how to execute those repairs at ehow.com (http://tinyurl.com/3yqhzxs). You may be able to buy the repair kit at your local hardware store. Sun Spots has done so in the past. But you may need to wait until spring to find one locally.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For the past couple of years, I have been making necklaces, bracelets and earrings for nursing home residents. Some of these ladies have never received a gift of jewelry before, and it means so much to them that many go to heaven wearing my jewelry. It makes me proud that I can make these women smile.

I also make necklaces for parents who have lost a child under 18, as well as for family members of murder victims. I have had funeral directors, police and family members call me when these sad events happen.

It really helps some get through the loss of a child or nursing home residents get through the day knowing someone cares for them. I have made life-long friends with some of the ladies. This year I made 55 necklaces that were sent to funeral homes all over Maine for surviving parents of children that have passed away.

My necklaces are made out of very good beads and crystals, not to mention beautiful pendants. If your readers can help me with supplies, it would be so appreciated.

I love doing this. It gives me purpose as I am mostly homebound myself.

My supplies are way down, and without donations I am not going to be able to continue doing this. God will bless you, and I thank you so very much in advance for your help. — Nina C., beadinlady44@aol.com, 402-4001

ANSWER: Sun Spots often gets letters from individuals like Nina, doing very good work to help others but without official nonprofit status. Because they are not official charities, Sun Spots recommends donating goods rather than cash.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Danville Union Church will hold its annual holiday fair on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Danville Grange Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
