Bill McCarthy, left, transportation manager for Sun Media Group, parent corporation of the Sun Journal, was recognized as a “Patriotic Employer” by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. He was nominated by Sun Journal employee Spc. Michelle Roy of Turner, center, a member of the Maine National Guard 152nd Maintenance Company of Augusta. The award was presented by Gregory R. Small, executive director of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, Maine Committee. The recognition was made during the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn on Thursday.
