DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Community of Christian Women in Phillips is preparing for its annual Children’s Christmas shopping day on Dec. 11 at the Community House. Children only may shop for gifts to give their family members. The gifts are then wrapped and tagged for them by high school volunteers.

Nothing is priced over $1. The adults accompanying the children are sequestered in the kitchen with an adult sitter for coffee and cookies.

We need donations to this project for the children to purchase, and any gently used items for men, women and children will be appreciated. Any profit made with this project goes back into the children’s outreach program.

For more information, contact the CCW at P.O. Box 273, Phillips, ME 04966 or call 639-4526. Thank you. — Nana Haines, chairwoman

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for a pattern used in a long-ago 4-H sewing class. I made a blouse out of four bandannas.

What I remember about the pattern is that the front and back pieces were positioned so that they came to a point and that there was very little cutting involved. Any help would be much appreciated. — Pam Barker, pam.henderson67@yahoo.com, 491-5198
