DEAR SUN SPOTS: At the beginning of October you received a letter inquiring about who should be called if there is a death and how to obituaries get in the paper.

I wanted to let you know that the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine is an organization whose mission is to educate and advocate for its members. It is inexpensive to join the organization — you make a one-time lifetime membership payment. To learn more about our website visit www.fcame.net.

We would invite any of your readers to learn a little about the organization and how we educate members by promoting simplicity, dignity and economy in funeral arrangements through advance planning. Thank you. — John Parker, jobu49@gmail.com

ANSWER: As uncomfortable as it can be to think about, planning ahead for your funeral and all that it entails, doing so is of great aid to your family. This includes writing a will and making sure that your obituary includes all the information you want it to.

This is a blowout sale, limited flavors — $3 for pints and $5 for quarts. There is a sign in the window with this information. — Tony Robichaud, tctrobi3@yahoo.com
