SALEM TOWNSHIP — Mt. Abram High School has announced that this year’s Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen candidate is William London, son of Barry and Danielle London of Carrabassett Valley.
The D.A.R. Good Citizen Program is sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Legion and locally by the Colonial Daughters Chapter. The candidate, selected by the Mt. Abram High School faculty, has had an active high school career, which includes academic excellence, sports and community service.
Throughout high school, London has been on the soccer team, serving as senior captain, and on the baseball team. Just recently he was honored as a Mountain Valley Conference Honorable Mention All Star and Academic All Star for soccer.
At the high school’s fall sports night he was presented the Bruce Howard Award for soccer. He is a member of the Mountain Time Council and Civil Rights Team. All four years he has been on the Mt. Abram High School honor roll.
In between school studies and sports, London is a member of the Sugarloaf Ski Patrol, Franklin County Search and Rescue and is in training for the Carrabassett Valley Fire Department. He recently passed the National Registry Exam for EMT licensing.
