FARMINGTON — Twiggy is an Akita/collie mix. She is a younger girl that has plenty of energy, said staff at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

She knows how to sit, but needs some help learning how to walk a little slower on the leash. She went home with a wonderful family for a little while but proved to be a little too fast paced to keep up with.

Twiggy would do best in an active home where she would have a master to play with. Staff said she gives great kisses. She would also need to be in a home without cats.

November is Adopt a Shelter Pet Month and on Friday, Nov. 26, in honor of Black Friday, the shelter will waive the adoption fee on any adult cat with black on it. Any adult cat with black on will be free that day. 

New dogs at the shelter include a German shepherd found in Farmington and a male boxer/basset hound mix.
