LEWISTON — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Simonne Ouellette was celebrated on Tuesday at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan March celebrated the Mass, assisted by the Rev. Albert Roux. At the beginning of the Mass, Simonne’s children, Gerry, Larry and Donald Ouellette and Joline Davis, draped their mother’s casket with the burial pall that commemorates their mother’s Baptism into new life. During the Mass, the first reading was presented by Bruce Geoffroy and the prayer of the faithful was read by Dan Galipeau. The offertory was brought to the altar by Larry and Eva Ouellette. Words of remembrance were expressed by Daniel Isabel. The Rev. March recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gerry, Dan and Jeff Galipeau, John Davis, Stan DeOrsey and Eva Ouellette. A reception of fellowship was held at the Ramada Inn, following the services at the cemetery.
