FARMINGTON — John Rosenwald will read “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Dylan Thomas at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Farmington Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.

The modern classic has become one of the most read-aloud Christmas stories ever. Rosenwald will read it in front of the library’s working fireplace.

Refreshments will be served.

Rosenwald teaches English at Beloit College in Wisconsin and is co-editor of the Beloit Poetry Journal. Since 1968, he has been reading “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” aloud.

Together with his wife, author and poet Ann Arbor, Rosenwald has traveled and taught in China. Recently a sampling of Chinese peasant artwork they collected was on display at the State House in Augusta. Rosenwald works collaboratively translating Chinese poetry.
