MEXICO — The following incidents were handled recently by the Mexico Police Department.

Accident

A vehicle owned by Maureen G. Fergola, 53, of Franklin Street, Rumford, sustained $2,500 damage when it slid down icy Mitchell Street at 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 27 and came to a stop when it struck a utility pole. The vehicle was parked on the side of Mitchell Street facing south when it began its slide.

Shots

A Fourth Street resident reported at 4:21 p.m., Nov. 25, that a hunter was shooting near his residence. The matter was turned over to the Maine Warden Service. Charges are pending for discharging a weapon too close to a residence.
