Coach: Craig Jipson (sixth year)
Last year’s record: 13-6, lost in Eastern A quarterfinals.
Returning letter winners: Seniors — Frankie Lally ( 5-6 guard), Miranda Martin (5-9 center), Dawna Daigle (5-11 center); Juniors — Emily Hartnett (5-4 guard), Marykate Masters (5-6 guard), Kelly Philbrook (5-5 guard); Sophomores — Ashlee Arnold (5-7 guard), Kate Sawyer (5-6 guard).
Key losses: Kirsten Prue (guard), Kayla Cummings (center).
Promising newcomers: Sophomore — Taylor French (5-8 forward); Freshmen — Kory Norcross (5-7 guard), Kennedy Hubbard (5-8 forward).
Outlook:
EL lost two KVAC all-stars in Prue and Cummings and also lost post player, Crissy Lewis, to Oxford Hills. The Red Eddies still have eight players returning. Replacing 34 points per game lost to graduation will be a challenge, especially with a smaller lineup. EL has some good athletes, some perimeter shooting and a solid defense. That should keep them competitive with most clubs.
Coach’s comment:
“I love our athleticism and how hard we play every time we step on the floor. We will press end-to-end and our season will be determined by how much we improve offensively.” — Coach Craig Jipson.
