Coach: Matt Clark (second year)

Last year’s record: 6-12

Returning letter winners: Seniors — Zeke Hall (6-4 center), Regan Sargent (6-1 forward), Jordan Richard (6-1 guard/forward); Juniors — Alex Morton  (6-1 guard/forward), Kyle Haley (6-1 forward), Hudson DeRaps (5-8 forward), Eric White (6-4 forward/center), Darren Decelles (5-7 guard); Sophomores — A.J. Elmes (5-8 guard), Austin Figoli (5-7 guard); Freshman — Mike Haley (6-1 forward).

Key loss: Zach Abbott.

Promising newcomers: Senior — George Seaman (6-3 forward/center); Sophomore — Josh Adams (6-2 forward); Freshmen — David Bachelder (6-0 forward), C.J. Oyler (5-7 guard), Thomas Clinch (5-7 guard).

Outlook: Having lost only one senior from last year’s team, the Lakers should be a factor in the EWC and Western Class D races. Rangeley has adjusted to a new coaching staff last year and committed to the summer and offseason programs. Hall and White deliver size, while Sargent’s experience leads a deep backcourt. Rangeley appears likely to end its recent tournament drought.

Coach’s comment: “I am looking for us to make a solid run in the league and get back to the Augusta Civic Center. We are going to have to play solid basketball for 18 games, because Class D basketball is that competitive.” — Coach Matt Clark
