JAY — No one was injured when a Livermore man’s car left the road and struck a utility pole Friday morning on Franklin Road. Damage to the 2000 Dodge Intrepid is estimated at $5,000, Jay police Sgt. Troy Young said.

Jesse Ciarcia, 20, was heading north on the road, also known as Route 133, to go to work at Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley, Young said.

The car struck the pole near Seaman’s Apple Orchard.

The utility pole owned by Central Maine Power Co. was damaged and will need to be replaced, Young said.

Jay Fire Rescue Department members responded to help direct traffic after the 6:56 a.m. accident.
