Children dance with Santa Claus during Breakfast with Santa at the American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls on Sunday. Eighty kids ate breakfast, made art projects and had their picture taken with Santa during the fundraiser for the Post Auxiliary’s “Children in Youth Program.” The auxiliary has adopted three families this Holiday season and will cover the costs of a joyful Christmas, said breakfast chairwoman Kathy Tice of Sabattus. “I’m a kid’s person,” said Tice. “The more kids I can help, the better,” said Tice, who had to set up extra tables when a larger than expected crowd showed up. Clockwise from left are: Chloe Bellegarde, 9, Emma Bunyea, 6, Mallory Gordon, 4, Santa and Olivia Bunyea, 2. All four children and Santa live in Mechanic Falls. “Doing this is the best Christmas present ever,” said Santa, a.k.a. Russ “Grampa” Hart. Post 150 will hold another “Breakfast with Santa” on Dec. 19 from 8-11 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. Children five and under are free.
