LEWISTON — Fernand “Charlie” A. Dube, 83, of 550 College St., passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Dec. 16, after a long illness.

He was born in Webster, Jan. 8, 1927, a son of the late Joseph and Pamela (Poulin) Dube. Mr. Dube was educated in Sabattus schools. Mr. Dube proudly served in the U.S. Navy in 1944 during World War II and during the Korean War until 1952.

Mr. Dube was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church. He worked 21 years at Knapp Shoe and 18 years at P&P Fuel and Webber Oil until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed staying active by working around his home and growing plants and vegetables.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doris (Carrier) Dube of Lewiston; two sons, Charles of Dallas, Pa., and Charles Soule of Lewiston; two daughters, Kathleen Munn of Decatur, Miss., and Roxane Dube of Mississippi; a brother, Conrad of Sabattus; a sister, Mrs. Chantel Gosselin of Auburn; as well as six grandchildren.

Mr. Dube was predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Armand; four sisters, Mrs. Simone Stevenson, Mrs. Theresa Albert, Mrs. Yvette Castonguay, and Miss Yvette Dube.
