LEWISTON — Bonnie Sue Craw, 61, beloved mother of Sharma Craw, passed away at her family’s house early morning on Friday, Dec. 17, after losing her valiant battle with cancer.

Once diagnosed over one year ago, Bonnie never gave up and never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future even through countless radiation treatments, X-rays, hospitalizations, medications and chronic pain.

Bonnie, affectionately known to her friends and family as “Bon Bon,” was born in Lewiston on Sept. 11, 1949, and grew up in the Lewiston/Auburn area where she attended Edward Little High School, before going to University of Maine, Orono, where she studied nursing. She had a long career in nursing including positions at CMMC in Lewiston and Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.

Filled with compassion and interest in others, Bonnie made friends easily and maintained contact with many of them and also loved being around all animals.

She is survived by her loving daughter Sharma; 11 siblings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, where she was under the care of Dr. Roger Austin, and the entire hospice team who bestowed first rate patient care during her multiple stays.
