When someone offers you drugs, just say no.
That was the message offered to schoolchildren in the Lewiston area Thursday night at an anti-drug abuse presentation sponsored by the Lewiston Lodge of Elks.
Speaking on the subject were Major League baseball player Billy Swift of South Portland; world karate champion John Jenkins of Lewiston; Dr. George Dreher, medical director of St. Mary’s Hospital’s Chemical Dependency Unit; Bill Hayden, drug counselor at the Androscoggin County Jail; and “Doug,” a recovering teenage alcoholic.
