LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St., is seeking volunteers to assist its Homework Help Program, which runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the school year.

Volunteers assist elementary-age children in the children’s room and middle/high school students in the computer lab.

Library Director Rick Speer said, “Helping with homework is an opportunity for generations to positively interact. It truly is a win-win situation, with current tutors reporting that the experience is very personally rewarding. The students, of course, also greatly benefit, with the program often times being their only source of after-school homework assistance.”

Those who may be interested in volunteering may contact Lewiston Community Relations Coordinator Dottie Perham-Whittier at 513-3000, x3205; TTY: 513-3007 or via e-mail at [email protected].
