LEWISTON – Gloria Vera Breton, 83, a former resident of Tall Timber Road in Greene, died Friday, Dec. 24, at D’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, where she had been a patient since April of 2006.
She was born June 30, 1927, in Niagara Falls, N.Y.,the daughter of Alvin and Vera Eva (John) Lindsay. Gloria graduated from Niagara Falls High School and continued her education and becoming a L.P.N. On April 22, 1950, she married Guy Peters at Niagara Falls, N.Y. He passed away July 8, 1972. She later married her husband of 30 years, Lucien Breton of Greene on June 28, 1980.
Gloria served as Chaplain at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, and also as housemother at the CMMC School of Nursing. Gloria delivered papers for the Lewiston Sun Journal and worked for several years as an L.P.N. at Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton, as well as a private duty nurse. She was a member of Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore. Gloria loved people and corresponding with them, she also loved taking pictures.
Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Lucien Breton of Greene; two daughters, Linda Bebee and her husband, the Rev. Barry Bebee of Victoria Corner, New Brunswick, Canada, their children, Daniel Beebe of Elkhart, Ind., Seth Beebe of Louisville, Ky., Jared Beebe and his wife, Jennifer Beebe, and their daughter, Kayden, of Simpsonville, S.C., and Nathan Beebe and his wife, Shirley, of Argyle, Nova Scotia, Canada, and Susan E. Peters of Wilton and her family, Marie Pineau and Darlene Richard; her stepson, Mark Breton and his wife, Lou-Ann of Louisville, Texas; and two stepdaughters from her former marriage, Shirley Gay and Marilyn Hartman.
She was predeceased by her aunt and uncle that raised her, whom she considered to be her Mom and Dad, Ivan and Rita Burnham; their children, who were like her brothers and sisters, Russell Burnham, Doris Benedict and Richard Burnham.
