LIVERMORE FALLS — Police arrested a local man Tuesday in connection to a break-in at the Adult Education Center on Cedar Street.
Officer Stephen Allen arrested Logan Couturier, 23, of Park Street in Livermore Falls after an investigation into the burglary that occurred over the holiday weekend. Couturier was charged with burglary class C, theft class C and criminal mischief class D.
Taken during the burglary were several gift cards for five local businesses. Allen had notified all of the businesses of the thefts in hopes that the cards might be used. An alert employee from the Label Shopper in Jay received one of the stolen cards on Tuesday and notified the police after identifying the suspect involved.
Allen applied for and received a warrant to search a Park Street home where all of the remaining items were recovered. Police estimated the total theft value at approximately $4,600. It is believed that all of the stolen property was recovered with the exception of $50 in gift cards.
Couturier is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on the charges.
