WILTON — Three vehicles were damaged when three deer ran into Route 2 near Dutch Treat on Thursday night.
None of the drivers were hurt, but one deer was killed and another badly injured, police officer James Bryan “JB” McMillan said. The third deer ran into woods.
Leslie Rogers, 34, of Wilton was driving a 2007 Dodge west, and Robert Greene, 58, of Rangeley in 2007 Toyota and Roy Hoyes, 32, of Dixfield in a Jeep Cherokee were headed east when the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m., the officer said.
The Jeep had an estimated $1,500 damage. All three vehicles were driven from the scene, McMillan said.
On Monday, a driver called 911 about 8:30 a.m. to report an injured wild turkey lying beside Route 2 near Collins Enterprises, McMillan said. It had broken wings and other injuries.
The deer and turkey were donated to local families.
