SACO, Maine (AP) — Police in Maine say three people are in custody on charges they held a 26-year-old woman against her will and forced her into prostitution.
Police in Saco say the three were arrested early Monday after they received a call about a fight at a local motel.
A 26-year-old woman told police she had met the people who held her while staying at a shelter in Portland.
The three facing kidnapping charges are: 26-year-old Lydia Sholl of South Portland, 27-year-old Tiana Clark of Medford, Mass., and Wayne Hick, whose age was not given, of Scarborough.
The Portland Press Herald says police are exploring the possibility of filing charges of aggravated promotion of prostitution.
