NORTH ANSON — Junior guard Alexis Blodgett and senior forward Beth Moore tossed 15 points apiece to power Jay to a 42-29 victory over Carrabec in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Tigers (7-1) were dominant on offense, outscoring the Cobras (3-5) in every frame. Moore posted a double-double with 11 rebounds to go along with her 15 points.
Junior guard Jocelyn Jackson led the Cobras with 10 points on five field goals in the losing effort.
Livermore Falls 45, Madison 31
MADISON — Kathryn Ventrella scored a game-high 15 points to propel Livermore Falls to a 45-31 victory over Madison in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Andies (7-1) jumped out to a 12-8 first quarter lead and improved their margin over the course of the next two frames. Marissa Welch contributed 14 points and Annika Durrell chipped in with 10 points for Livermore Falls.
Senior guard Jen Brown posted a team-high six points on three field goals for the Bulldogs (4-4) in the losing effort.
Falmouth 54, Poland 22
POLAND — Falmouth broke Friday’s game open in the middle two quarters to pull away for a 54-22 victory over Poland in a WMC girls’ basketball game.
Holding a 7-2 lead after the first quarter, Falmouth (5-2) used a 30-11 run over the next two quarters to take command.
Anna Hickey scored 14 points and Jess Diphillipo added 13 points to lead the Yachtsmen. Poland’s top scorers were Morgan Copp with nine points and Britina Maheux with seven points. Maheux also hauled down 11 rebounds for the Knights (1-6).
Cony 39, Oxford Hills 28
SOUTH PARIS — Cony used a 19-point fourth quarter to overtake Oxford Hills and win, 39-28, in a KVAC girls’ basketball tilt Friday night.
Trailing 23-20 at the end of three, the Rams made nine of 15 free throw attempts and limited the Vikings to just one field goal in the fourth quarter.
Crystal Clark led a balanced Cony offense with 10 points, while Josie Lee contributed nine points and Mia Diplock eight for the Rams (4-4). Ashley West scored 15 points, all on 3-pointers, to lead the Vikings (3-6).
St. Dom’s 44, Wiscasset 23
AUBURN — Allaina Murphy scored 26 points and led a dominant team effort on the boards as St. Dom’s topped Wiscasset, 44-23, in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday night.
St. Dom’s built a 9-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and gradually pulled away from there. Mary Caron chipped in with eight points for the Saints (5-3). Kayla Connors led Wiscasset (0-8) with 14 points.
Georges Valley 41, Monmouth 31
THOMASTON — Kennadi Grove led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points to help Georges Valley defeat Monmouth, 41-31, in MVC girls’ basketbal action Friday night.
Georges Valley jumped out to a 15-6 lead after one and increased the cushion to 13 points by halftime, then held off Monmouth in the second half.
Jill Bradbury added seven points for Georges Valley (4-4). Sierra Spencer led Monmouth (3-5) with eight points while Kristine Kahl and Daisi Poole chipped in with five points apiece.
Cape Elizabeth 39, Gray-NG 24
GRAY — Gray-New Gloucester could only muster single-digit scoring as Cape Elizabeth dismissed the Patriots (2-4) with a 39-24 victory.
The Capers (5-2) took a commanding 25-14 lead by halftime and waltzed the rest of the way.
For the Patriots, Elica Valente scored nine points.
Hall-Dale 54, Lisbon 35
FARMINGDALE — Senior center Taylor Massey provided a massive 21 points as Hall-Dale dispatched Lisbon 54-35 in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Bulldogs (8-0) possessed only a two-point lead at the half (23-21). But, they went on a tear in the third quarter with a 16-4 run. Carylanne Wolfington contributed 14 points for Hall-Dale.
Jessica Campbell recorded a team-high 14 points for the Greyhounds.
