FARMINGTON — Three people initially accused of kidnapping a Chesterville man in November were indicted Thursday on lesser charges.

Cherith Andresen, also known as Bonnie Sargent, 32, of Ellsworth, Michael Morse, 39, of New Sharon, and Clarence White, 49, of Phillips, were each indicted on charges of felony aggravated criminal trespass and misdemeanor charges of assault and criminal restraint.

Each was initially charged by Maine State Police on felony kidnapping in the Nov. 24, 2010, incident. They each were also charged in November on one count of aggravated criminal trespass.

The three were among 42 individuals indicted on 116 counts by a Franklin County grand jury.

Morse, who was also initially charged on one count of criminal threatening, was also indicted on that charge.

Convictions on felony trespass and criminal threatening charges carry a sentence of up to five years in prison.

William Norton, 56, of Chesterville told police he landed on his stomach in his dirt driveway after White and Morse, both of Wilton at the time, threw him out of a camper, according to a police affidavit. Norton told police that Morse climbed on top of him and held a knife to his throat and told him he was going to kill him.

Norton also said while Morse was on top of him, White and Andresen, also of Wilton at the time, hogtied him with plastic zip ties, the affidavit states.

Both Morse and Andresen admitted that they went to Norton’s trailer “to teach him a lesson” so that he would stop harassing them, according to the affidavit. Both Morse and Andresen denied that Norton was ever threatened with the knife and that they only used the knife to cut him free from zip ties, police stated. White said that Norton was lying and that the incident never occurred, the affidavit states.
