FARMINGTON — Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community is offering a free three-week “Building Self-Confidence” training session from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, Jan. 26 to Feb. 9,  at the Farmington Center, 108 Perham St.

Participants will learn ways to improve self-confidence in various situations, feel better about themselves and present themselves in a positive way.

The center will offer free tax preparation from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Jan. 27 through March 26. Appointments are necessary by calling 778-7954.

Qualified filers can have their federal and state income taxes prepared and filed for free by volunteers trained and certified by the IRS. Clients often learn about tax credits and rebates that they have never applied for before and get connected to local organizations and resources that can help them manage their money, reduce debt and save for the future.
