A recent U.S. Department of Education report shows that students attending for-profit schools and colleges are more likely to default on their student loans than those attending nonprofit colleges and universities. Maine statistics tell the same story.

We want to interview Mainers who have defaulted on their student loans, or are having difficulty paying back the loans, especially if you attended a for-profit school or college. Two of those for-profits include Kaplan University, formerly Andover College, and Mr. Bernard’s Hair School of Lewiston. If you’d like to be interviewed for this story, contact reporter Bonnie Washuk at [email protected].
