LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen will meet with Androscoggin County commissioners on Tuesday night to discuss police services.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 18, at the town office.

A local committee was to draft a request for a proposal to see what it would cost for the county to provide police services.

Voters approved an article in June 2010 to have selectmen investigate alternative coverage to compare costs to see if it would be more efficient to hire another law enforcement agency or to continue with the local police service.

Interim Town Manager Kristal Flagg said the commissioners requested to meet with the board.

Flagg also said that Melette Pepin has tendered her resignation from the Budget Committee.

On Monday, Jan. 17, selectmen will meet with a finalist for the town manager position in executive session at the town office.

One of two candidates expected to be re-interviewed backed out, select board Chairman Bill Demaray said Friday.

It is possible a new manager will be announced at Tuesday’s meeting, he said.
