LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will host a series of “eReader Roundtables” aimed at helping readers who are new owners of ereader devices in learning how to use them, download free ebooks and share information with other ereader users.

The sessions will be one hour in length and are scheduled for a variety of times to accommodate a range of schedules:

Wednesday, Jan. 19, noon to 1 p.m., Couture Conference Room, first floor. Attendees are invited to bring a brown bag lunch to this midday session.

Thursday, Jan. 20, 6 to 7 p.m., third-floor conference room.

Saturday, Jan. 29, 1 to 2 p.m., Couture Conference Room.

“A lot of people have purchased ereaders or received them as gifts over the recent holidays and have questions about how to use them,” said Reference Librarian Ellen Gilliam. “Other people are looking for advice on what features to look for when buying an ereader. We’re hoping these sessions will give folks a chance to ask questions and to pick up some tips from library staff and from each other.”

Information will also be provided about how to use the Maine InfoNet Download Library, a statewide ebook and audiobook service to which LPL, the Auburn Public Library and Bates College Library subscribe.

Sessions are free and no reservations are required. For more information, call the LPL Reference Desk at 513-3135.
