I read with some amusement Vickie Rogers’ letter of Jan. 17 regarding violence in our culture. She seems to attribute it to the history of white domination.
I beg to differ.
Long before whites arrived, Native Americans were forcing other tribes off traditional lands. We think of the Sioux as Plains Indians, but they originated in Minnesota. In their move west, they forcibly removed tribes, including the Crow.
Violence in our history goes back to the time of Cain and Abel, the Romans, Mongols, Goths and virtually every other group.
Nothing has changed. Somebody has something somebody else wants.
