FARMINGTON — The deadline for filing nomination papers and renewing dog licenses without a late fee are coming due.
Nominations for two Farmington selectmen positions and two RSU 9 director positions are due by by 5 p.m. Jan. 28, said Farmington Town Clerk Leanne Pinkham. Both the selectmen and RSU 9 director seats are for three-year terms.
Selectmen seats now held by Jon Bubier and Nancy Porter are up for re-election as are the school board seats of Robert Flick and Claire Andrews.
Nomination papers require at least 25 and no more than 75 signatures from town voters, she said.
Dog license renewals are now due. Starting Feb. 1, a $25 late fee will be charged on dog license renewals. The late fee amount is up from $15 charged last year, she said. A license renewal before Jan. 31 is $6.
No reminder notices were mailed out at the end of the year as has been done in previous years. There were approximately 500 licenses that needed to be renewed as of the end of the year, she said.
Owners should bring a current rabies certificate for the renewal. If the dog is new to Farmington, a spayed/neutered certificate is also needed, if applicable.
