PORTLAND — Mad Horse Theatre Company has begun its “Dark Night Series” with “The Play About the Baby,” by Edward Albee.
“The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?,” also by Albee, is being performed on the main stage.
“Dark Night Series” performances run Monday through Wednesday nights, when the theater would otherwise be dark.
By turns funny, mysterious and disturbing, “The Play About the Baby” revolves around a young couple who have just had a baby, and the strange turn of events that transpires when they are visited by an older man and woman.
“The Play About the Baby” is directed by William Steele, professor of theater at the University of Southern Maine. The show is running Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings through Feb. 2 at the new Lucid Stage Theater, 29 Baxter Blvd. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation only, with a suggested donation of $10. For reservations, call 899-3993 or order online at www.lucidstage.com.
