AUBURN — Memorial services honoring the life of Gerald “Gerry” Goding were celebrated by Pastor Roger Cousineau Thursday at East Auburn Baptist Church. During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Pastor Gary Herrick, as well as Gerry’s brother-in-law, Jerry Major, and Gerry’s niece, Janet Elwell White. Marc Casavant read a letter of remembrance, nephew, Mark Collins shared remembrances of friendship and fellow church member and friend Al Fereshetian shared remembrances of Gerry’s faith. Fellow church member, and pianist, Darren Avery sang “Find Us Faithful,” and friend, Randy Corey sang a song especially written for Gerry, called “Thank-You” in tribute for all Gerry had done for East Auburn Baptist Church. Pastor Tim Howard of East Auburn Baptist Church shared remembrances of Gerry as a longtime elder of the church. Guitarist, Cody Degraff sang, “Waiting” and remarked how fun both Gerry and Ruth made Sunday School over the years. Then Pastor Cousineau recited committal prayers in full race team regalia in honor of loosing a valued member of not only his church but of his pit crew of the “Faster Pastor” No. 81 team at Beechridge Motor Speedway. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship in the church hall. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
