AUBURN — Wayne “Skip” W. Sylvia, 61, of Turner, died on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.
He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 10, 1949, the son of Laura (Souza) Sylvia and grew up in the Lewiston-Auburn area, then resided in Turner.
Wayne loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid gun enthusiast. He enjoyed motorcycle rides and traveled many places. He had a very deep love for music having played bass for many years and could always be caught air guitaring to his favorite songs.
He is survived by his mother, Laura; stepfather, Hervey Bielise; sisters, Joan Fonceca and Joyce Chaput; his son, Samuel Sylvia, and daughter, Carrie Sylvia; grandchildren, Sage Sylvia and Kobe Hartford; and his loving dog, Poochie.
Our father was adored by many and loved by us all. His memory will live on forever.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Hospice and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for taking such good care of him.
