LEWISTON — Gail M. Morrissey, 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 27. She had been receiving hospice services in her home for the past month.

She was born in Boston, Mass. on Dec. 28, 1943, to Harry and Janet Morrissey.

She spent most of her life in Auburn, until she moved to Lewiston a few years ago. Gail is well known in the L/A area, as she made friends wherever she went. She loved music, dancing, her beloved pet, Kara, attending church, and Mickey Mouse. She was small in stature but had a huge personality and a strong determination. She was known for speaking her mind, but also for showing kindness and compassion for those less fortunate than her. When her health began to deteriorate due to a life-long struggle with diabetes, she moved to Lewiston, where she received home support services from Creative Works Systems. She attended Grace and Truth Bible Church in Litchfield, and loved the pastor and friends she made there.

She received kind and loving care from her Creative Works’ caregivers and from AHH & Hospice. She will be sadly missed by her dear friend, Lynn Fuller, her devoted home staff, Florence Corson, and her guardian, Pam Blake.

She is survived by a brother, Patrick Morrissey.

She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Janet.
