A Mass of Christian Burial for Carmelo Joseph Puiia Jr. of Rumford was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at St. Athanasius – St. John Church, Rumford, with the Rev. Phil Tracy as celebrant. Altar Assistant was Mr. George Gionet. The organist was Mark Belanger. Music included Be Not Afraid, Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, You Raise Me Up, and TAPS. Special music was “I Can Only Imagine,” sung by Tammy Burgess. Readings were given by son, Steve Puiia and daughter, Patty Cobb. The eulogy was given by son, Peter Puiia. Gift Presenters were granddaughters op0 — Gina Puiia and Cara Mansour. The pall bearers were his sons, Joseph, Michael, Stephen, Rocco, Peter and Mark Puiia. Interment in the spring with military honors will be at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. A reception followed the service in the parish hall of the church.
