LEWISTON — Two identical programs, “Becoming a U.S. Citizen,” will be offered at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Lewiston Public Library.

The programs are for local residents who are thinking about becoming citizens through the naturalization process. Barbara Taylor, staff attorney with the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project (ILAP), will speak at both events.

Taylor will explain the eligibility requirements for citizenship and will present a detailed look at what an individual must have in hand before applying. The program will be presented in English.

According to LPL Cultural Liaison Muhidin Libah, “With so many Lewiston residents now qualified for citizenship and eager to begin the application process, this workshop should prove valuable in answering the many questions out in the community.”

The programs are free and no registration is required. Both programs will cover the same content. They will take place in the library’s third-floor Callahan Hall.

For more information, contact Libah at 513-3050 or the library Reference Desk at 513-3135.
