Grange program

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the grange. The program, presented by the Agriculture Committee, will feature a speaker on sustainable agriculture. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are invited.

Members are reminded that if the meeting is canceled because of the weather, the grange will meet on Thursday, Feb. 24. If school is called off, the meeting is automatically cancelled.

Council to meet

MECHANIC FALLS — Twin City Council, United Commercial Travelers of America, will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Bucknham Oaks. After the business meeting, a potluck supper will be held. All members and guests are invited.

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Members should note the change in time.

The chapter will honor Sideliners. Harriet and William Stretton will receive their 25-year pin. The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6 p.m. All Eastern Star members are welcome.

House of One Heart

AUBURN — Court Street Baptist Church will host an all-generations Fun and Food Fellowship during its “House of One Heart” Baan Jai Diaow Event at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12. Rides may be available. Call the church office at 784-6661 for reservations, as seating is limited.

Mended hearts

LEWISTON — “Lifevest” will be the topic of discussion at the Thursday, Feb. 10, meeting of Mended Hearts at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute.

LifeVest is a wearable defibrillator for treating sudden cardiac arrest. It offers patients advanced protection and monitoring as well as improved quality of life.

Mended Hearts, a national nonprofit organization affiliated with the American Heart Association, provides support to patients who have been impacted by heart disease.

The group will meet in the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute’s first-floor Young Wing Conference Room, 60 High St. For more information, contact Cheryl Strout at 795-8225.

Cribbage results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Feb. 3 were: first, Dick Dennis, two-player table; second, Irene Beauchesne, three-player table; third, Bill Mickalide, two-player table; fourth, Edith Chambers and Bob Cielinski; fifth, Betty Ames and Guy Dube.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose on Feb. 1 were as follows: first, Linda Leotsakos and Paul Mitnik; second, Jeanine Kivus and Patricia Garcia; third, Anna Vitiello and Les Buzzell.

 No game was played at Schooner Estates, Auburn, on Feb. 2 due to a snowstorm. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.
