CARMEL, Ind. — Doris G. (Collins) Dunkel, formerly of Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Carmel, Ind., after a long illness.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 16, 1926, the daughter of Alfred and Marie (Grenier) Collins.
She was educated in Lewiston and had worked in textile, Hill Division of Bates Manufacturing and Federal Shoe.
On Oct. 26, 1948, she was married to Mahlon Dunkel from Lagrange, Ind., where they resided and raised their family.
Besides her husband, Mahlon, of 62 years, she leaves one daughter, Diane and her husband, Lawrence Moran, of Carmel, Ind.; three sons, Dennis Dunkel and his wife, Bea, of Greenville, Texas, James Dunkel and his wife, Shirley and John L. Dunkel, all of Lagrange, Ind.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Levesque, Theresa Giguere, and Evelyn Leriche; one brother-in-law, Reno Blais, all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Beatrice Pafumy, Florence Trepanier and Patricia Blais; five brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law, Alberta Collins.
