FARMINGTON — Will Bonsall will speak on “Advanced Seed Saving” at the Farmington Grange Hall, Bridge Street, West Farmington, from 6:30 to i p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17. The Farmington Seed Savers Group is sponsoring the event.

Bonsall will present a program exploring special issues of seed saving, such as maintaining purity of cross-pollinating species and dealing with biennial crops that have been wintered over. The public is invited to bring questions.

Bonsall is the founder of the Scatterseed Project, a program for preserving the diversity of the crop heritage located in Industry. He is an adviser and a major curator for the nonprofit Seed Savers Exchange.

Bonsall is an advocate of plant-based fertility systems. He writes about sustainable civilization in his recent novel, “Through the Eyes of a Stranger.”
