LEWISTON — Shawn Ricker scored 16 points and Corbin Hyde had seven rebounds and five assists to go along with his six points as Lewiston (9-8) dismissed Oxford hills (6-11) with a 48-42 victory in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday night.

The victory gives the Blue Devils a spot in the Class A playoffs, according to their coach. The Vikings kept right in step with the Devils, even as Lewiston built a 26-21 lead at halftime.

Oxford Hills’ Brian Lynch scored 10 points and Matt McVety helped out with 11 points.

Poland 66, Freeport 57

POLAND — Jake Littlefield drained three of Poland’s 10 3-pointers and hit for 26 points overall to lead all scorers, pacing the Knights to a 66-57 victory over Freeport in WMC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Jonah Farrington added three more treys and 13 points for Poland (7-10).

Mitch Loeman led the Falcons (0-17) with 17 points, Josh Weirich had 16 and Kyle Strozewski chipped in with 11.

St. Dom’s 46, Wiscasset 36

WISCASSET — Joe Bryant lit up the scoreboard with 25 points, including two 3-pointers and snatched six steals, as the St. Dom’s (13-4) shook off Wiscasset (8-9) with a 46-36 victory in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday night.

Wiscassett was persistent as the Saints built a 23-15 lead by halftime.

St. Dom’s Tom Applegate scored 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. For Wiscasset, Ashton Benn scored 13.

Hall-Dale 55, Lisbon 41

LISBON — Junior guard Austin Bechard tabulated 16 points in a balanced attack as Hall-Dale bumped Lisbon 55-41 in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (6-11) didn’t really get started until the second half as the game was tied 21-21 at the midpoint. Mike Woods and Brad Sheperd provided 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Hall-Dale.

Senior forward Tobey Harrington posted a double-double for the Greyhounds (0-17) with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Jay 64, Carrabec 20

JAY — Junior guard Zach Bonnevie recorded 16 points to lead Jay to a blazing 64-20 victory over Carrabec in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Tigers (10-7) broke out with 28 points in the second quarter for a 38-7 halftime lead. Senior center Kyle Storer provided offensive support with 10 rebounds and eight steals to go along with eight points for Jay. Sophomore guard Dylan Price posted a team-leading seven points for the Cobras (1-16).

Gould 65, Pine Tree 38

BETHEL — Gould erupted for 20 points in the second quarter and raced away to a 65-38 victory over Pine Tree Academy in boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Will Bunge led Gould (7-8) with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Abe Bartlett chipped in with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Taylor Peck-Moad added 14 points. Gould led by 14 points at the half and was never challenged.

Tim McGuire led Pine Tree Academy (1-14) with a game-high 23 points, the only player in double figures.

EL 74, Mt. Ararat 51

AUBURN — Edward Little jumped out to an 11-point advantage in the first frame and raced away to a 74-51 victory over Mt. Ararat in a late-season KVAC boys’ basketball matchup Tuesday.

Bo Leary led the Red Eddies with 33 points and 17 rebounds.

Brandon Giguere chipped in with 17 points, including two from beyond the arc. Timmy Mains also contributed with six points, six assists and six steals.

The Eagles (9-8) were paced by Josh Walker with a solid 19-point effort, while Josh Wright and Eric Napoleon each tallied eight.

Medomak Valley 47, Oak Hill 46

WALDOBORO — Isaac Greenrose nailed a 3-pointer with three minutes left in regulation to lift Medomak Valley to a 47-46 win over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Greenrose finished with seven points, while Shane Osier led the team with 12 points.

John Murray also contributed with 10 points, while Isaac Durkee’s seven points were key in the final frame.

The Raiders (3-14) were paced by Cam Morin with seven points and 10 rebounds. Trever Samson chipped in with six points in a well-balanced attack.

Leavitt 43, Maranacook 33

TURNER — Leavitt jumped out to a 13-2 advantage in the first frame and hustled to a 43-33 win over Maranacook in late-season boys’ hoops action Tuesday evening.

The Hornets (13-4) were paced by Kyle Smith with 15 points, while Lucas Miller added seven.

Kyle Boucher led the Black Bears (10-7) with nine points, while Seth Miller and Jack Kennedy each added seven.

Livermore Falls 68, Madison 43

LIVERMORE FALLS — Hunter Brett poured in 16 points Tuesday to lead Livermore Falls to a 68-43 victory over Madison in a boys’ basketball matchup.

Mike Armstrong chipped in for the Andies with 13 points, while Mark Castonguay added 10.

Madison was paced by Bill Briggs with a solid 15-point effort, while Noah Tranten added five.
