LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center will host an open house today to reveal Phase I of its $45 million construction project, including a large part of its new emergency room.

The new facility will be open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m., with formal remarks at 1:30 p.m.

The public and ambulance entrances will move to the Main Street side of the CMMC campus. The new emergency department will feature dedicated parking next to the public entrance and a large lobby with a separate waiting area for children. It includes 22 private treatment rooms and trauma rooms.

An additional 14 private treatment rooms will be added in July as part of Phase II. Phase III will include changes to radiology and the connection between buildings. The project is slated to be finished in February 2012.
