Let me first admit that I know little about the game of hockey; however, I enjoy watching most of the action.

I witnessed several fights, which I don’t agree with at all, and during two of those fights, one of the player’s helmets came off. I saw the helmetless player take about five bare-fisted punches to the head.

If a helmet comes off during a fight, it should be stopped immediately due to the increased risk of head trauma, not wait until the fighters fall to the ice.

I know that I am going to be tagged as an idiot and, if you think I am, you are not the first to notice.

A sports reporter, who shall remain nameless, told me that they have to allow fighting in hockey due to the amount of testosterone that builds up on the ice.

There must be a much less violent way to get rid of pent-up testosterone and adrenaline.

If I had children, I would not bring them to a hockey game, and I don’t believe I will be going back to see the Maineiacs.
