An article in the Sun Journal Feb. 3, “Final rest delayed for Korean War vet,” caught my eye.

Whoever was responsible for that veteran not being put to rest in a timely fashion should be ashamed. No Purple Heart recipient, Korean War veteran should be left in limbo like that.

I wonder who ordered the cremation in the first place, especially where there was no family to order a cremation. And I wonder why it took five months to get his remains put to rest.

I was very glad to see, in the next day’s paper, that donors had come forward and the veteran was finally put to rest properly, with honors.

Why wasn’t that done five months ago?
