LEWISTON — Raymond J. Obie, 75, of Oak Park died Friday, Feb. 11, at Russell Park Manor.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 27, 1935, a son of the late Wilfrid and Lucille (Lacombe) Obie. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a short-order cook and in local shoe shops as a finisher. He was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching old movies and, when he was younger, he also enjoyed traveling.

He leaves two sons, Kevin Poe of Massachusetts and Brian Poe of California; two sisters, Anita Harmon and Pauline Obie; a brother, Robert “Bob” Obie, all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria (Piro) Obie; and a daughter, Marlane Driggers.

The family would like to send a very special thank-you to the entire staff at Russell Park and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Ray in his last days.
