PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Bob Darling’s hole-in-one helped his team capture a share of first place at a scramble tournament conducted Monday by the Treasure Coast Senior Tour at the Santa Lucia River Club.

Two teams tied at 17 under par 55 in the 18-hole tournament. Darling, of Lewiston, aced the 158-yard 17th hole with a 7-iron and teamed with local golfers David Pilot and Gary Benoit for one-half of the title. Also with 55 were Rob McClellan, Butler, Pa., Roy Vucinich, Moon Township, Pa., and Bill Miller, Fort Wayne, Ind.

Each team was comprised of a junior, 49 and younger, a senior 50-64, and a super senior 65-older. Players on the two teams with 55s earned $425 apiece.
