AUBURN — Dara Reimers, owner of the Auburn Bread Shack and recent prize winner in Italy, will bring her story to the Auburn Art Club on Monday, Feb. 21. The meeting will take place at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Park Street.

Reimers opened the Auburn Bread Shack, located at 1056 Center St., in the summer of 2008. She recently coached the team of American bakers who won the top prize among artisan bread bakers at international competition in Rimini, Italy. Following that success, she was honored by the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce at its recent annual meeting.

Reimers said she will bring her original slide show, “The Baker’s Journey,” to the meeting. It illustrates her involvement with the Bread Bakers Guild Team USA in artistic design from August 2006 to March 2010, and the latest competitions as well. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Meeting chairwoman is Kathy Gleason, assisted by her committee: Beverly Preble, Jane Linnell and Stephanie Upton, all of Auburn. The Auburn Art Club is composed of 50 women who support and encourage all the arts. Bonnie Ross is president.
