DURHAM — An 18-year-old Durham woman was taken to a Lewiston hospital Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Newell Brook Road.

Rene Smiley of Royalsborough Road was driving north toward Lisbon Falls when she lost control of her vehicle at the top of a hill, Androscoggin County Deputy Sheriff Craig MacMillan said. The car went off the right shoulder, struck a snowbank, continued through a driveway and back onto the road where the car rolled over onto its roof.

Smiley complained of pain and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center by Durham Fire and Rescue. Deputy MacMillan said her 2001 Pontiac Grand Am was demolished in the 10:56 crash, which remained under investigation Tuesday.
