MONMOUTH — The Maine Department of Transportation will close one lane of Cobbesseecontee Road from Thursday until April 10 to accommodate construction on Jock Stream Bridge.

Flaggers will regulate alternating one-way traffic at the bridge as crews begin preliminary construction on bridge replacement. Alternating one-way traffic will continue until about April 10 when the road will close in order to replace the bridge.

The road is expected to remain closed until the construction is completed in late August.

Crews will replace the current deteriorating structure with a precast concrete bridge. Atlantic Mechanical Inc. of Woolwich is the contractor for the $800,000 project.
