LEWISTON — Muriel J. Guay, 94, formerly of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion. She had previously resided at Sarah Frye Home in Auburn.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 15, 1916, a daughter of the late George and Marie Rose (Angers) Roberge. She attended local schools and married Henri L. Guay on Oct. 14, 1944.

Muriel retired from Philips Elmet Corporation in 1976, after 25 years of service. She took great pride in her work and was meticulous in things being just so. Muriel had an eye for detail and will be remembered for her ability to catch anything that was out of place.

Most important to Muriel was her family. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters and taking trips. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

One of Muriel’s favorite things to do was going out to eat at the various restaurants. She also had a special devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary.

Muriel is survived by her son, Normand Guay and his wife, Carol, of Greene; her granddaughters, Stephanie Michaud and her husband, Robert, of Wales, Michelle Curtis and her husband, Chad, of Epping, N.H., and Erica Guay of Greene; great-grandchildren, Alexandre, Xavier and Nicolas Michaud and Tyler and Maria Curtis; her siblings, Jeannette Potvin and Roland Roberge and his wife, Therese; and brother-in-law, Eugene Veilleux.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henri L. Guay in 1988; and her siblings, Henry Roberge, Rachael Veilleux and Yvette Renaud.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sarah Frye Home, d’Youville Pavilion and to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
