LEWISTON — Lewiston-Auburn College student and Vassalboro resident Kessi Watters Kimball recently concluded a dual internship working with Maine Historic Preservation Commission Archaeologist Art Spiess and Abbe Museum Curator of Collections Julia Clark.
Watters Kimball’s internship came during her senior year as an arts and humanities major with a minor in French North American Studies and a self-designed minor in indigenous peoples.
Watters Kimball, a 1995 graduate of Cony High School in Augusta, is descended from the First Nation Listuguj (Restigouche) Mi’kmaq in Quebec. She is a recipient of the Madeleine D. Giguère Scholarship at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College and plans to continue her studies at USM as a graduate student in the New England Studies Program.
